OPUS may also retain information about users who have been blocked
so that the blocking preference can be applied.
Section 8
Student and children's privacy
OPUS is designed for use through participating schools, school
districts, and authorized family relationships. It is not intended
for children to create independent public accounts without the
appropriate school, parent, or guardian authorization.
Student information provided by or on behalf of a school may be
protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, state
student-privacy laws, school policies, and contractual requirements.
One Green Apple uses student information to provide the educational
and school-communication services requested by the participating
school or district. We do not use student information for unrelated
advertising or commercial profiling.
Where OPUS is used by or for a child under 13, personal information
is collected and used only with the authorization required from
the applicable school, parent, or guardian and for the purpose of
providing and supporting OPUS.
Parents, guardians, and eligible students should generally direct
requests to inspect, correct, or obtain school-maintained education
records to the applicable school or district. One Green Apple will
assist the school or district as required by our agreement and
applicable law.
If you believe that information about a child was collected or
used without appropriate authorization, contact us at
support@onegreenapple.com
.

obligations.
Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and
the requirements of the applicable school or district.
-
School-provided information may be retained for the duration
of the school's or district's use of OPUS and deleted, returned,

Account and profile information may be retained while an account
remains active and for a limited period after closure when needed
for security, legal, or operational purposes.

to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure,
alteration, loss, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, authentication,
encryption, monitoring, logging, employee and contractor
confidentiality requirements, and procedures for responding to

No system can guarantee complete security. Users should protect
their login credentials, use only authorized accounts, and notify
One Green Apple promptly if they believe an account or device has
been compromised.
If a security incident affects protected information, One Green Apple
will work with the applicable school or district and provide notices
as required by law and our contractual obligations.
Section 12
Third-party services and links
OPUS may depend on third-party providers for hosting, security,
communications, notifications, diagnostics, support, and other
operational services.
We review our providers and require them to protect information
and use it only for the services they provide to One Green Apple,
subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.
